Charity of the Week – Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland
Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland are a national charity providing highly trained Assistance dogs for children with autism. We provide a valuable service that can have life changing effects for children with autism and their families. Our dogs are specially trained to provide safety, independence & companionship to these children who would otherwise live in a very isolated world.
Did you know?
It costs €15,000 to train each dog and AADI are not government funded, so we rely solely on our fundraising efforts and public donation. We do not charge the family for the dog as AADI retains ownership of the Assistance Dog throughout its working life, however the families are responsible for their day to day care including veterinary costs.
We have a waiting list that is currently full to the brim with over 500+ families, which presently is also closed. We are trying to highlight the importance of these assistance dogs and the fantastic help they provide to these children and their families. We can only achieve this with your kind donations and support.
